Jill Schmidt Story
A Rogers native (and a former second grade student of PCCA’s own Mrs. Bowen), Coach Schmidt cheered at Elmwood Junior High and Rogers High School. She studied dance under the direction of Dorothy Taylor at Ballet Westside for 15 years and taught there for four years, and went on to dance on the University of Arkansas Razorback Pom Squad for three years. She joined PCCA as assistant cheer coach under Stephanie Easley in 2019 and has taught locally at All That Dance for the past two years.
“I love teaching cheer because we just have fun using our gifts and talents to encourage others,” she said. “Who doesn’t love cheering on a team and dancing? I love getting to share what I love with these young ladies.”
Now in her seventh year as a Providence mom, she and her husband Nick are proud parents of four current and future PCCA students: Mason, Drake, Millie and Dylan.
“What we love most about our school is the way the teachers care so deeply about not only our kids’ education, but their character,” said Coach Schmidt. “Providence comes alongside us as parents to create true leaders for Christ and is so much more than a school. It’s a community of like-minded believers who encourage each other, not only in education, but in every area of life.”
In her spare time, Coach Schmidt can be found at the gym, on a long run or watching her kids at the ball fields or dance studio.
Coach Schmidt’s favorite scripture is Proverbs 3:5-6: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him and he will make your paths straight.”
