Jalen Posey, a 2014 alum of Providence Academy, was recently announced as the Athletic Director of Horizon Christian School in Indianapolis, Indiana. Jalen graduated Cum Laude from Indiana’s Grace College in 2017 with a Bachelor of Science in Sports Management. While at Grace, he served as head manager of the basketball team for three years and as president of the Black Student Association. Jalen’s goal is to successfully help the next generation pursue their athletic goals and dreams while being “Kingdom-focused.” While at Grace College, Jalen also married his beautiful wife, Kirstin.

Jalen, who attended Providence Academy his senior year, said, “I was welcomed with open arms, and instantly felt like part of the Providence family. I was blessed to be able to make my own mark at Providence, and it gave me the opportunity to grow into a leader.” He also shares that “Providence prepared me for college by teaching me to take initiative to get my work done, and take responsibility for that decision.”

Jalen believes the most important class he took at Providence was his College Rhetoric class from Mr. Janicke, who Jalen believes helped to craft him into a leader who could use his voice to speak up and be eloquent while doing so. Jalen’s words of wisdom to future PCCA students is to “never get complacent or comfortable. Ask God to push you in your faith, and show you how you can be used in a world that needs you more than ever!”
