What if you could have a college-like schedule at a college-prep school?
That's what the University-Model® schedule provides as our families experience the best of both the homeschool and private school advantages for their child's Christian, classical, college-prep education.
K-6th Grade
In the elementary grades at the Grammar Campus, students attend class two days per week and complete detailed assignments at home three days per week. Parents act as co-teachers to ensure the course assignments are completed by the student and returned to class. Electives and special events are held on Fridays.
7th-12th Grade
In the middle school and high school grades at Upper Campus, students attend class on-campus three days per week. On their two at-home days, students work independently with supervision by the parent as needed. Teachers are available to help in person during office hours at school and also answer questions via email on those days. Free tutoring, AP labs, and practices for athletics and musical theater also take place on satellite days.
Through this University-Model® schedule, Providence Academy provides a partnership between professional educators who love the Lord and parents who know their child best. Here are some of the benefits for your family:
-
Extensive involvement in your child's education without being their sole teacher
-
Time given back to families to invest in your child's academic and spiritual development, strengthen sibling relationships, enjoy time together as a family, and pursue interests outside the classroom
-
Time management skills that will give students a smooth transition to their college years
-
Instruction from professional educators, many of whom have advanced degrees in their field
-
A vibrant student life including championship athletic programs, high-quality musical theater productions, leadership and community service opportunities
-
Advanced Placement and college concurrent courses as well as guidance for the college search process
As a University-Model® school, Providence is not a homeschool co-op. All five school days - days on campus and satellite days at home - are under the supervision of the professional educator. Teachers maintain office hours and open lines of communication via phone and email on satellite days.
We believe that this University-Model® schedule strengthens families and prepares lifelong learners for the next level of their education. If you have questions about what this option would look like for your family, we'd love to talk with you more about it.
